Quick Takes Friday

My post earlier this week about one of my favorite films,"Arranged", which tells the story of a friendship between a Muslim and a Jewish woman, inspired me to start reading Answering Islam: The Crescent in Light of the Cross by Norman Geisler and Abdul Saleed. I wanted to learn more about Islam (did you know that 1 in 5 people on earth are Muslim?) and so far it's great.

Speaking of books, I just finished Why I Stayed by Gayle Haggard. Gayle is the wife of the former pastor Ted Haggard,  whose scandalous affairs and drug use rocked their church community and their marriage. The book was mediocre; I expected the emphasis of the book to be on why and how she decided to make her marriage work, but the real emphasis was on the long (and tedious) process of her husband's removal from the church he pastored.

Halloween wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The kids stopped coming after we turned the lights out and there was enough candy left over for us to eat. I call that success!

My daughter let me sleep in today for the first time in a very long time. It looks like it's going to be a great weekend!
